Online Conference

Getting Started:

Beginning online therapy might make you feel a bit nervous because you might wonder what it's going to be like. It's normal to feel that way. Talking to someone you don't know can seem strange. Just like making a new friend, it takes time to trust and feel comfortable with your therapist, even if it's online. I'll do my best to make you feel at ease and safe. To help you know what to expect, especially if you've never done therapy before, below I have provided more information about how this process will work.

What to Expect

Three Simple Steps to Starting Therapy:

Step 1: We will talk to each other through email or on the phone, and if you choose, we can have a short, free 15-minute consultation where you tell me why you want therapy. During our talk, you can ask any questions you have, and we will decide if we should work together.

Step 2: If we agree to continue, we will schedule your first therapy session. I will also ask for your email and send you a link to set up an account with a secure online tool for your health information. You will need to read and sign a few documents there, like the agreement for treatment, demographics form, and your emergency contact information.

Step 3: We will meet for an initial information gathering session before starting ongoing therapy sessions. Throughout our sessions, we will work together to help you feel better mentally and emotionally, and feel more empowered to achieve your goals.

15-minute Phone Consultation
This free consultation is a valuable opportunity for you and the therapist to get to know each other, clarify expectations, and make an informed decision about whether to pursue therapy together. It helps ensure that therapy is a good fit for your needs and that you feel comfortable and confident in your choice of therapist before making a financial investment.

The No Surprises Act

The No Surprises Act is a U.S. federal law that was enacted to protect consumers from unexpected and often high medical bills that can occur when they receive healthcare services, particularly in situations where they have little control over which healthcare providers are involved in their care. The primary purpose of the No Surprises Act is to prevent surprise medical bills and ensure that patients are not held financially responsible for costs that they did not anticipate or have control over.

I am required to provide clear and transparent information about the costs of my services, including a "Good Faith Estimate" of service costs. Although I cannot pre-determine the length of your treatment, I will provide a general estimate based on the typical length of mental health treatment.
